Welcome to Bad Dog's bar. Here you can find information on
local watering holes, links to online receipe databases, my
personal favorite drink and receipes, links to related topics
and companies, and games.
As you can probably tell by now I like to drink bourbon. Mostly
I drink
Jack Daniels
, on the rocks, as my main staple. But my favorite is
Bakers with
Bookers
running a very close second. Of ourse, the occasional
cigar
while sharing those male bonding stories about women, I mean
sports events make the experience even more rewarding. Special
events like the gold cup just seem to make the melding of the
four a way of life.
Let us not forget some of the other whisky's that have had their
place in world. I'm talking about
Jim Beam with it's standard
and it's Single Barrel editions,
George Dickel,
Elijah Craig,
Knob Creek,
Maker's Mark, let us not forget Wild
Turkey, and the many other's that make bourbon drinking and educated
man's hobbie. Here are a few bourbon tastings:
-
Baker's 107:
Yellowish brown, with an aroma of dried violets. Caramel and
vanilla flavors with a clean finish. Drink straight. The tasters'
choice.
-
Basil Hayden's:
Brownish amber. Caramel and spice aromas. A woody flavor with
a slightly harsh finish. Drink straight.
-
Blanton's:
Reddish amber. Dried citrus and spice aromas. Cloves, caramel
and burnt-sugar flavors. Drink straight.
-
Booker's:
Dark amber. Smoky charcoal aroma. very "hot" straight; sweet,
with caramel and vanilla flavors when cut. Drink with water.
-
Elijah Craig:
Darkish amber. Aromas of spice and licorice. Caramel, nutty
and vanilla flavors. Better with water.
-
Hancock's Reserve:
Orangish brown. Flavors of licorice and apricots uncut; oak
and caramel tastes when cut. Drink straight or cut.
-
Knob Creek:
Deep reddish orange. A "hot" burnt-caramel aroma. A very woody
flavor on the palate. Drink cut.
-
Maker's Mark:
Light amber. Clove and wood aromas. Light spicy flavor and a
smooth finish. Drink straight or cut.
-
Rock Hill Farms:
Honey amber. Aromas of candied fruit and honey, with the taste
of caramel and a clean finish. Drink straight.
-
Wild Turkey Rare Breed:
Deep reddish amber. Exotic flower and perfume aromas. Candied
spice and pepper flavors with a smooth caramel finish. Drink
straight.
-
Woodford Reserve:
Light amber. Charcoal and caramel aromas. A light woody flavor
with a licorice finish. Drink straight or cut.
But all this without the social factor can be some what enjoyable but
people always make the experience unique. This can be at private
parties or at local watering holes. In the Northern Virginia area we
have hundreds of bars, clubs, taverns, and other social places to choose
from. Some of my favorite handouts are
Kilroy's,
Bad Habit's, Fat Tuesday's, The Car Pool, Main Street USA, P J Skidoos,
Grevey's, T T Reynolds,
The Vienna Inn,
Bardo's, Whitey's,
Clarendon Grill,
Luna Park Grille, various
Billiard Parlors,
and thats just a few in Virginia.
A special closing tribute to Bad Habit's for all nights spent
partying with friends, the trips to the gold cup. Always a great
event for socializing. Brunch, Bus Trip, Tent on the Rail, Drinks,
Food, Cigar's, Bus Trip, After Gold Cup Party ... and let not
forget the annual Christmas Party! We will miss you dearly ...

CoW is a purely private effort to collect links to all cocktail
related sites that are available on the web. The links are
arranged into categories to simplify access. Most links are
briefly commented, some are rated. You can send me URLs that you
think should be added CoW. Just tell me about them, either by mail
or using the form available. I will add them CoW as soon as
possible. CoW is restricted to cocktail related links.

Mexican
|
|
Requires people, beer/alcohol and dice.
Someone arbitrarily goes first by rolling the dice in a cup,
turning it over so no one can see. The direction at first goes
clock-wise to the person next to you. You the roller lift the
cup so only you can see the dice. Then you tell the appropriate
person what the dice landed on. If they believe you they must
take the dice without looking at them and roll a higher number
to the next person. If the person does not believe you they pick
up the cup for everyone to see. If the lied the roller drinks
else the challenger drinks.
Always use the high die as the upper number. Foe instance, you
roll a 4 & 5, this would equal 54. Roll 2 & 2 and you have double
2's. Roll a 2 & 3, this equals 32 and you better lie and get
away with it.
2 & 1 = 21 = Mexican: you drink double and the roll pass
you to the next person in line. Automatic cup lift for everyone
to see.
3 & 1 = 31 = Social: everyone at the table drink one.
Automatic cup lift for everyone to see.
4 & 1 = 41 = The Nose: the last person touching their
nose has to drink. Automatic cup lift for everyone to see.
3 & 2 = 32 = Scum Bag: you must never say 32! If you
roll a 32 you must lie. If you get caught you must drink 6.
Any doubles, if caught lying then you must drink the amount
of the doubles.
Sloppy Dice: If for any reason the dice fall off the table
when it is your turn you must roll that die or dice and
drink the amount shown.
Numbers: 31, 32, 41, 42, 43, 51, 52, 53, 54, 61, 62, 63, 64,
65, 11, 22, 33, 44, 55, 66.
Play as many rounds as desired.
