First of all thanks to Christina for being a great social host!
Jason and I met back in 1997 while working for then MCI now MCI WorldCom. He sat
in the cube next to mine working on a Intranet WEB site by the name of Source
OnLine for the HR department. After figuring out that neither of us ever brought
lunch with us we started exploring the local establishments. Of course he almost
always drove, no need to ride in a jeep when you can ride in a Porsche. That
basically how we became friends. Of course the occasional happy hours added to
our friendship.
He was the guy that talked me into creating my first server side object. "I need
a tree navigation contol thats dynamic and go down as many levels as needed
without taking up to much space on the left side of my pages", he said. So after
a week of analizing and coding we prototyped the TOC to the head of development
for Source OnLine. He took it and ran, "but it's only a prototype" we said. It
went into production and two years later they finally assigned someone to
upgrade it with more features.
Those were some crazy days out at the Reston III facility. Working with state of
the art development tools to build intranet. They were good times that helped us
further our careers and get paid damn good money. Got love it when life is on an
up swing cycle.
Now he's moved to Dallas TX. Put his Porsche Boxster in a covered car mover.
The rest of his stuff in a moving van and met them there one week later. Jason,
best of luck, keep in touch!
