The Virginia Gold Cup Races - 75th Running

9:00 AM the 6th of May 2000 and another Gold Cup was upon us. This years the crew was larger then in past years. A total of 8 were stepping up to the challange of drinking, eating, gambling and socializing out in The Plains. It would be a long day with the sun beating down and the alcohol flowing freely.

Unlike the previous years, this years outing was sponsored by Main Street USA. In previous years we had always gone with Bad Habit's Grille, bar god's rest thy soul! Therefore the crowd was somewhat new to our crew. But with any bar closing people will migrate and a few faces are always familiar. That along with the fact that we have a tendency to roam! It's the new people we meet and party with that always add the spiece to such events.

The Spring Gold Cup Bus Trip included a pre party at Main Street USA. Luxury bus transportation to/from the Gold Cup (equipped with restrooms). Always important when your stuck on a bus that doesn't stop until it reaches it destination and you've been drinking the whole time. 3 north rail chalet tents with private restrooms. Fully catered lunch buffet. Beverages (beer, wine, liquor, soda). Post party at Main Street USA with Gonzo's Nose.
